Acadia National Park

During my families journey around New England we stopped in Bar Harbor, Maine and drove around the stunning Acadia National Park. Our first stop was at the Bubble Pond (above pic). The bubble pond made us feel completely isolated from the world, when you stopped to listen to nature you could hear a bubble popping sound coming from the pond, the water in the pond was so clear you could see right to the bottom. I could’ve spent all day at that bubble pond, relaxing and listening to the sounds but my mom thought it be best to see the rest of the park.

This park should be on every outdoors man’s bucket list. There are plenty of hiking travels with beautiful scenery. My sister and I went up one of these trails looking for Bubble Rock, a 100-ton boulder perched on a trail to South Bubble. We eventually had to turn back because someone gave us bogus directions, we didn’t get to see the boulder up close but we could see it from the road behind it.

Cadillac Mountain and Thunder Hole were two of my favorite stops in the park loop. Thunder Hole is a small cavern under the water, when the waves pull back air escapes into the cavern and when the waves crash back down into the cavern it causes a thunder like sound. Its an amazing scene to witness. Cadillac Mountain has the highest point along the North Atlantic seaboard. It provides beautiful views of the coast and isolated islands, we even witnessed a very small causal wedding occur while up on the mountain.
